It’s happening right here in America.
Law-abiding gun owners in Connecticut were recently forced to line up and register their firearms with the state government by January 1 of this year.
Now, citizens who either missed the deadline, or simply refused to submit to the blatantly unconstitutional law, are facing felony charges and up to five years in prison.
In fact, anti-gun groups and their allies in the state media are outright campaigning for authorities to “use the background check database” to round up an estimated 300,000 gun owners, fine them $5,000, and put them behind bars.
If this can happen anywhere in America, it can happen everywhere!
Right now, Barack Obama and his gun control allies in Congress are plotting new ways to bring Connecticut’s freedom-crushing policies to every corner of America.
In 2005, as a result of lawsuits aiming to destroy America’s firearms industry, Congress passed the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act to end this threat to the Second Amendment. The act begins with findings that go to the heart of the matter: “Congress finds the following: (1) The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. (2) The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the rights of individuals, including those who are not members of a militia or engaged in military service or training, to keep and bear arms. Now, how is this that no one is saying anything about this 2005 law passed?
WE hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness–That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed.
The Founders were declaring that we are all equal, and that we are defined by rights that we are born with, not given to us by government. Among those rights is the right to pursue happiness–to live our lives as we think best, as long as we respect the right of all other individuals to do the same. The Founders also declared that governments are created by people to secure their rights. Whatever powers government has are not “just” unless they come from us, the people.
How many of you have requested (FOI) all data pertaining to firearms ownership as it relates to you personally from your government?
If you have, have you also noticed that the data is not accurate and or incomplete not due to the fact that you didn’t do what is required, but because the state has failed to do their part to ensure accuracy in those records.
How can the state hold you accountable for something that they refuse to keep up to date, and how can false data be used in support of any warrant or legal action?
Oh yeah that’s right we are supposed to trust our government even when there is no concrete reason to do so.
A car and your drivers license is a privilege. The 2nd Amendment is a right!
Our government has one duty and that is to defend our liberties. It is being abused by Democrats and used to force those liberties into submission. Shall not be infringed means shall not be infringed. It is very clear. It is also clear that it is our right to throw off such government that no longer represents our liberties.
